This Privacy Policy explains how FlowVetted (“FlowVetted,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use flowvetted.com (the “Site”), whether you’re a business looking for a provider, a provider with a listing, or a visitor browsing our content. This policy is written to be read alongside our Terms of Service and Cookie Policy.

This page is a standard template and should be reviewed by a licensed attorney before publication, to confirm it matches FlowVetted’s actual data practices and current legal requirements in every jurisdiction it serves.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways. Information you provide directly includes your name and email when you create an account, claim a listing, submit a review, or contact us; billing information when you subscribe to a paid plan (processed by our payment provider, not stored directly by us); and any details you include in an inquiry sent to a provider. Information collected automatically includes standard analytics data such as pages visited, browser type, approximate location (city/region level), and referring website, typically gathered through cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. Information about providers is recorded from publicly available business sources (official websites, public professional listings) as part of building directory listings — we do not collect personal or sensitive data about individuals as part of this process.

How we use your information

We use collected information to operate the directory — displaying listings, routing inquiries between businesses and providers, calculating the Provider Satisfaction Index (PSI) from verified reviews, and processing subscriptions for paid plans. We also use it to communicate with you — responding to support requests, sending account or billing notifications, and, if you’ve subscribed, sending our newsletter (which you can unsubscribe from at any time). We use aggregated, non-identifying data to improve the Site and understand how categories and listings are used.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in specific circumstances: with the provider you contact, limited to what’s needed to respond to your inquiry; with service providers who help us operate the Site (hosting, analytics, email delivery, payment processing), under contractual obligations to protect your data; and when required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request. Affiliate links on the Site are disclosed per our Affiliate Disclosure; any resulting data sharing with affiliate partners is limited to what’s necessary for tracking a referral and is not used to sell your personal data.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality, analytics, and — where applicable — advertising. You can manage your preferences through the cookie banner shown on your first visit, or at any time via our Cookie Policy page. Visitors in the EU/EEA are shown an opt-in consent banner before any non-essential cookie is set; visitors elsewhere may be shown an opt-out mechanism consistent with applicable local law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — see our Do Not Sell/Share My Info page. EU/EEA and UK residents have rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, erase, or port your data, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, submit a request through our data removal / privacy request page, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Provider and review data

If you’re listed as a provider, the business information on your profile may come from public sources until you claim your listing, at which point you can correct or update it directly. If you submit a review, we verify your identity to confirm you’re a real client, but we do not publish your verification details — only your review content and, if you choose to provide it, your name or initials. Reviews are not removed at a provider’s request solely because they are negative; see our Vetting process page for how review integrity is maintained.

Data retention

We retain account, listing, and review data for as long as your account or listing is active, or as needed to operate the directory and comply with legal obligations. If you request deletion via our data removal page, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within the timeframe required by applicable law, except where we’re required to retain certain records (for example, billing records) for legal or accounting purposes.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

FlowVetted is intended for business use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

International visitors

FlowVetted is based in the United States and primarily serves US, Canadian, UK, and Australian users. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above, and, where required by law, we will provide additional notice.
